Ohakea Air Base Te Whare Toroa Project
The Ohakea Air Base Te Whare Toroa project is a landmark in New Zealand’s defense infrastructure, housing the NZ Defence Force’s advanced Poseidon fleet. Graham Hill Roofing played a pivotal role by supplying and installing roofing and uninsulated cladding for the new aircraft hangars.
Over two years, we undertook one of New Zealand’s most ambitious construction projects. The hangar roofs, each spanning 3,200m² and weighing 500 tonnes, were assembled at ground level and lifted 33 meters into place—marking the largest fully installed roof lift in New Zealand.
